This year has been tough on all of us, and especially the music community.  Live shows have been put on hold since March, causing a huge loss of income.  Not just for the musicians, but for everyone involved.  Promoters, road crew, bartenders, club owners are all struggling to survive.

Recently, we lost Call The Office in London, which has hosted many of our favourite bands.  The Mod Club, Orbit Room, Starlight Social Club, and many more have been forced to close as well.  Many more could close soon, as they struggle with renewing insurance, and lost income.

One way to help is through the Canadian Independent Venue Coalition (CIVC).  The CIVC are asking for government support to help keep independent venues in business, until the pandemic is over, and live shows are allowed to happen again.

You can also head over to Bandcamp to support your favourite artists.  On the first Friday of every month, they hold Bandcamp Fridays, where revenue share is waived.  It's a great time to pick up that vinyl you've had your eye on, or even pick up a digital copy.

For us here at Alt Rock Radio, we've managed to keep things going, through job loss, quarantine, and moving our home studio to a new city.  We're glad you stuck by us, and we hope to bring you tons of great new music in 2021 and beyond.  This month, instead of the usual Band of The Month, we wanted to say thank you to the artists.  Thank you for all the great music, and for the live streams to keep us going, until we can see you live again.

Every day in December, at 9am, 1pm, and 5pm you can hear a track from one of our previous Bands of The Month.  Hear songs from Bully, Century Surfers, Runaway Nuns, Dearly Beloved, Bad Holiday, Dune Rats, Bonds of Mara, and The Anti-Queens.
