Artist of the Month: October 2023

In the ever-evolving landscape of rock music, there are artists who push boundaries and redefine the genre. One such artist is Prchr, a rising force in the music scene who captivates audiences with his powerful and layered sound.

Prchr, pronounced percher, is the brainchild of a 24-year-old hailing from the North Coast of NSW, Australia. With a passion for rock music and a desire to create something truly unique, Prchr has been making waves with his innovative sound and captivating performances. Drawing inspiration from his favorite rock artists, Prchr channels their energy and infuses it with his own blend of new era rock music.

In June 2023, Prchr unleashed his double single, "Ghost/Chicago," to the world. These tracks serve as a testament to his ability to craft anthems of liberation and introspection. "Ghost" delves into the depths of disappointment and isolation, while "Chicago" explores the quest for self-discovery.  Accompanying the release of "Ghost/Chicago" is a visually captivating music video. Shot in a raw warehouse carpark, the video captures Prchr in a state of torment, weaving a mesmerizing narrative. The lyrics are projected onto the surroundings, creating a hypnotic lighting effect that immerses viewers completely.

Prior to the release of "Ghost/Chicago," Prchr made a significant impact with his debut EP, "Only Child." This EP, released in 2022, features notable tracks such as "What You Think," "Only Child," "Veteran," "Rock Bottom," and "Birthday Song." Each track showcases his ability to combine alternative, garage, and hard rock elements, resulting in an exhilarating and captivating listening experience.

Prchr's sound can be likened to a fusion of various rock influences, resulting in a unique and dynamic musical style. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Royal Blood, Badflower, Cleopatrick, DZ Deathrays, and Nirvana, Prchr crafts a sound that resonates with passionate rock-loving youth. His music captures the raw energy and intensity of these influences while adding his own distinct flavor.

Prchr's impact extends beyond his music releases. He has had the opportunity to grace the stage alongside esteemed acts such as The Smith Street Band and Press Club during their recent tour. These experiences have further solidified Prchr's position as a rising force in the music scene. Additionally, his music has garnered attention from community and college radio stations in both the USA and Australia, as well as spins on BBC Radio 1 and more.
