Artist Of The Month: May 2023

Alt Rock Radio’s Artist of the Month for May 2023, Vilivant, is a Canadian hard rock/alternative rocker who has been making waves in the music industry. Julia Gentile, also known as Vilivant, started music at a very young age and has drawn heavily from influences such as The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, and Three Days Grace, to create her own unique sound.

Vilivant’s music is characterized by her powerful vocals, intricate guitar work, and thought-provoking lyrics. She has quickly become known for her high energy performances and infectious stage presence, making her a must-see act for fans of hard rock and alternative music.

Vilivant’s first self-titled EP was a great success, with her first two singles "Never Again" and "Stabilized" reaching radio airplay on various stations. The two singles also reached #89 and #98 on the top 100 Canadian rock radio charts.

Despite the pandemic causing live shows to be at a standstill, Vilivant continued to play at virtual festivals. During this time, she was selected as a Top 5 Regional Finalist for Jim Beam’s National Talent Search and won the Toronto Region with her LIVE off-the-floor performance video of her song "Stabilized."

With the help of Sam Guiana, Producer of Juno-nominated band Silverstein, Vilivant released her full-length album titled "Running on Empty," after receiving the Juried Sound Recording grant from FACTOR Canada. Her two singles from the album, "Running on Empty" and "Drown," have both reached over 50k views on the music videos and continue to climb steadily. "Running on Empty" also has over 140,000 streams on Spotify.
